Ok, maybe the event isn’t starring, but it’s definitely full of mountain stars. The Mountain Culture Variety Show, hosted by Coast Mountain Culture Magazine and the Spearhead Huts Committee on Sunday, April 15th, 2012, at 8:00pm promises to shine with original feature presentations (nothing recycled here!) by Jordan Manley, Sherpas Cinemas, Robin O’Neill, Johnny “Foon” Chilton, Eric Pehota, Chris Christie, Les Anthony, and Sterling Lorence. Pulling the crowd together and keeping the energy high will be entertaining MC Mitchell Scott, whose hilarious stories could fill a show on their own.
The presenters will be using the state-of-the-art audio-visual setup from another TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival event, the sold out Pro Photographer Showdown. If you want eye candy on the Spearhead Range and other mountain adventures, this is the show to attend.
There will also be a silent auction, with incredible draw prizes and mountain booty (think: backcountry ski trip with Trevor Linden for you and a friend; getaway packages to the island with overnight stays; and gear – yes, there will be skis – from your favourite companies).
Doors will open at 8:00pm for you to scout the goods and mingle. There will be a DJ with tunes to keep you grooving, and beverages to help keep the courage going.
Tickets are a steal of a deal at $20 and will be available at Whistler and Squamish’s Escape Route and online through TWSSF’s website. The show starts at 9:00pm and will run until 11:00pm. Doors will open at 8:00pm.
