Reel Rock 2011 comes to Squamish

Tighten your britches and bring some chalk for your sweaty palms. On Wednesday, October 19th, the sixth annual Reel Rock Film Tour hits Squamish’s Brew Pub. In the lineup is footage from Dean Potter and Sean Leary’s attempt to break the record on The Nose, the riskiest climb in the world, Tommy Caldwell’s incredible 5.14 project on El Cap’s Dawn Wall, Andy Lewis’ reckless slackline aerials, and sweet little nine-year-old Ashima Shirashi, who puts us all to shame by bouldering V11 and V12 in Texas.

For those who are chomping at the bit for Jack Frost to arrive, your heart will start pumping at Will Gadd’s ice climbing trip to BC’s Helmcken Falls, and you’ll be glad you’re in a warm room when you see the icicles on the faces of Simone Moro, Denis Urubko and Corey Richards as they complete the first winter ascent of Gasherbrum II, the thirteenth highest mountain in the world.

Show starts at 8pm and runs for roughly 2 hours. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $18 at the door.
